Extracurriculars

I have served as sponsor of the Sophomore Class at Hobart High School which helps organize Homecoming, the Homecoming Parade, hallway decorating, and Pep Session activities. I also served as the Academic Superbowl Coach for English for two years. At the 2014 competition, out of ten schools, we placed third overall. This was our school's best performance since 2005. At the 2015 regional competition, we placed first for our English team. I have volunteered for the National Honor Society and helped out at numerous high school events including talent shows, intramurals, fundraisers, and dances, as well. I also have extensive background in both dance and cheerleading and would be interested in opportunities to be involved with either.

In Indiana, I served as the English tutor for our Homebound Tutoring program where I worked with students who are unable to learn in a traditional classroom setting due to disabilities or physical health issues. I was the lead English tutor for our after-school program, as well, and I taught the ECA/PARCC remediation course after school to facilitate students meeting graduation requirements.
